Join us as we end 2025 with two fantastic poets, Seana McCarthy and Portsmouth’s 9th Poet Laureate, Kimberly Cloutier Green! See you at Laney & Lu!

Seana McCarthy is a writer and illustrator based in Hampton, New Hampshire. She has been drawing since she can remember, but took on the role of illustrator in 2018 while designing cover art for local Boston musicians. During this time, she taught an after-school writing program in Mattapan and Charlestown, Massachusetts with a fellow artist. It was here that her love for words truly developed while understanding the impact of them.

Her artwork has been exhibited in galleries such as “A Pleasant Shoppe” in downtown Portsmouth and coffee shops throughout Derry, NH. She self-published her very first illustrated book, “Faery Herbology: Hidden in Plant Sight,” in 2020 and since then, has been diligently working on both a children’s book and her debut poetry book titled “It’s Dark in Here” (release date to be announced).

Kimberly Cloutier Green is the author of The Next Hunger (2013, Bauhan Publishing) and Openings for Light to Pass Through (2025, Bauhan Publishing). A Pushcart Prize nominee, her poems have been published in several literary journals, most recently The Maine Review, The New Orleans Review, Nine Mile Magazine, and Calyx Journal. Her honors include grants and fellowships from the Maine Community Foundation, Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, MacDowell, and Hawthornden Literary Retreat. She is a former Lecturer in the English Department at UNH and was the 9th Poet Laureate of Portsmouth, NH. Kimberly produces the Rice Pudding Poetry Podcast in Maine.
