Join us on Wed., October 2nd at Stroll for another Hoot featuring UNH MFA students!

Cat Casey is a writer currently in her last semester of her MFA at the University of New Hampshire. She was raised between parents located in the South Shore of Massachusetts and the North of Ireland. Her work has been featured in Good Life Review and So to Speak Journal, among other places. Her thesis, Weird Little Freak Girls, is fairly emblematic of the usual subjects of her writing. You’ve probably seen her before, working at a handful of restaurants along the Seacoast.

Haley Hodge is a poet and second-year MFA student at the University of New Hampshire. Haley is originally from the Blue Ridge Mountain region, where she attended the University of Lynchburg, receiving a BA in marketing and graphic design. Apart from serving as Barnstorm’s Arts Editor, she is this year’s Graduate Assistant for the Nossrat Yassini Poetry Festival. If not out on a walkabout writing poems for the birds and the trees, you can find her with a coffee in hand, probably still thinking about the birds and trees and definitely the moon. Writers who inspire her currently are Mary Oliver, Robin Kimmerer, and Galway Kinnell.
